Le Mans 2023 was the big centenary bash, and Porsche rolled in with the 963 Hypercar to rekindle old glory. The pace was there in patches, but penalties and niggles meant the Stuttgart squad never mounted a sustained shot at the overall podium. Ferrari stole the headlines with a fairytale win, leaving Porsche to bank data and plot revenge rather than spray champagne. Still, it marked the proper beginning of Porsche’s top-class return—foundations laid, pride slightly bruised, and plenty of homework for the next one.
