porsche symbol on car Page 2

The “Porsche symbol” is the Porsche crest—equal parts heritage and “yes, I do enjoy hairpins.”

The prancing horse comes from Stuttgart’s coat of arms (Porsche’s hometown), while the red‑black stripes and antlers are from the old state of Württemberg.

It debuted in the early 1950s and typically appears on the bonnet, wheel caps and steering wheel, depending on model and trim.

So if you spot a rearing horse inside a shield with stripes and antlers, that’s not farm branding—it’s a condensed history lesson with a very expensive soundtrack.
