power to weight ratio for p platers vic Page 8

Ah, the classic Victorian P-plate conundrum: your car's power-to-weight ratio must not exceed 130 kW per tonne. This rule is designed to keep your steely chariot in check, preventing newbie drivers from unleashing wild horsepower beasts on the streets too soon.

So, if your car weighs 1,000 kg, the maximum allowed power is roughly 130 kW. Keep in mind, this applies only in Victoria and is strictly enforced. To make life easier, check out listings on Tradingpost or CarShowroom, which often specify P-plate compliance.

Remember, it's not just about raw power; your vehicle's weight plays a starring role in this equation. Drive safe and keep those numbers in mind, or you'll find Victoria's traffic cops less than forgiving.
