price my car wait times

Chasing "price my car wait times"? New-car delivery in Australia still swings wildly by brand, model and even paint colour—anything popular, hybrid or fresh-off-the-boat can mean weeks to many months, while run-out or less fashionable specs can be on a truck tomorrow.

Waits are driven by factory allocation, shipping slots, port processing and dealer queues, and they change faster than a dealership coffee goes cold.

• Ask dealers for in-transit VINs and estimated build/ETA windows, not vague quarters.
• Join cancellation lists and be flexible on colour, wheel packages and option packs.
• Try regional dealers; allocation can be less congested outside the big smoke.
• If you’re over waiting, a near-new example on Tradingpost can be in your driveway this week.

Always get the ETA in writing and understand it’s an estimate, not a blood oath.
