60 psi in a VL wagon’s tyres? That’s not “spirited”; that’s a trampoline. Most Commodore VLs on regular passenger tyres are happy around 32–36 psi (220–250 kPa) cold, depending on load and tyre size—check the placard on the driver’s door jamb.

At 60 psi (~410 kPa) you’ll shrink the contact patch, wreck the ride, and chew the centre of the tread, with reduced grip and a higher risk of a blowout.

The only time you’ll see ~60 psi is on some space-saver spares—and your VL likely had a full-size spare anyway—so don’t use that number for normal tyres.

Set pressures to the placard or tyre maker’s guidance, bump a couple of psi if carrying heavy loads, and recheck when tyres are cold. Your fillings will thank you.
