In Queensland, the P-plate test is delightfully simple: drive properly, don’t improvise, and try not to terrify the examiner.
To book it, you must be at least 17, hold your learner licence for 12 months, log 100 hours (including 10 at night), and pass the online Hazard Perception Test first.
On test day, bring your licence, a roadworthy car wearing L-plates, and your logbook (paper or app); follow signs, scan ahead, park neatly, and keep the wheel twirling to a minimum.
Pass and you’ll swap Ls for P1; if not, no drama—rebook, practice, repeat, and try again without the jazz hands.
