Moving from QLD to NSW? You’ve got 3 months to transfer your licence at Service NSW, where they’ll check your ID, proof of NSW address, and your current QLD licence.
For most interstate transfers it’s just an eyesight test and some fees—no theory or driving test unless your licence has expired, you’re upgrading classes, or special medical/heavy-vehicle rules apply.
You’ll surrender the QLD card, get a photo taken, and leave with an interim paper licence while the NSW plastic turns up in the post.
Make sure your name and address match across documents, and remember vehicle rego is a separate saga altogether.
