Ah, the infamous Queensland P-plate rules—because apparently, the government loves putting rookie drivers through a bureaucratic obstacle course. If you’re rocking those green P-plates, you’re limited to a maximum speed of 90 km/h and must not drive between midnight and 5 am unless accompanied by a fully licensed driver. You’re also banned from towing trailers and must display your P-plates front and rear at all times. Oh, and no using a mobile phone, even hands-free, because distractions happen.
These restrictions last for at least 12 months or until you log 100 hours of supervised driving, whichever takes longer. It’s basically a trial by fire designed to keep everyone else safe while you figure out which end of the car to point forward. For the full, glorious list of rules, check the official Queensland government website or ServiceCentral.
