ram review australia Page 2

Think of the RAM 1500 as a lounge room with a tow bar—that just happens to rumble like a V8 should.

In Australia it’s remanufactured to right-hand drive locally, and it tows with comical ease: up to 4.5 tonnes braked when properly equipped.

The 5.7‑litre HEMI V8 and 8‑speed auto make light work of caravans, and highway ride quality is more cruiser than ute.

Inside, there’s space for actual adults, a big touchscreen on higher trims, and enough cupholders to hydrate a footy team.

Trade-offs? It’s wide for city car parks, thirst is real (~12–15 L/100 km official, more if you’re heavy‑footed), payload isn’t truck‑truck, and prices are stout (~$100k–$160k drive‑away depending on trim).

Key figures: power ~291 kW, torque ~556 Nm, towing up to 4.5 t; Consult official documentation for exact figures.
