Hunting 2022 RAV4 chatter (yes, the forum kind) usually boils down to thrift, wait times, and the odd infotainment grumble.

The headline act is the 2.5L hybrid sipping around 4.7–5.0 L/100 km, with the 2.0L FWD and 2.5L AWD petrols playing understudy; ride is comfy enough, cabin plastics merely fine, and the pre-2023 infotainment looks like it remembers dial‑up.

Safety kit is generous (Toyota Safety Sense, AEB, lane stuff, the whole alphabet soup), and boot space is family-holiday big without the SUV bloat.

Pricing circa 2022 sat roughly $34k–$52k+ new, while the used market often wanted $35k–$60k because Australia collectively discovered fuel prices; shop calmly and verify service history.
