rav4 2023 review Page 7

The 2023 Toyota RAV4 is the sensible shoes of SUVs, except they’re surprisingly comfy and sip fuel like a budgie.

The Hybrid is the pick for most Aussies, gliding around suburbia at about the mid‑5s L/100 km in the real world and shrugging off stop‑start traffic.

Cabin space is generous, tech finally feels modern, and safety kit is comprehensive—so yes, school runs and country trips are both easy.

Downsides? The engine drones if you demand brisk overtakes, base audio is just okay, and dealer wait times can test the patience of a saint.

Resale is strong, running costs are stingy, and you won’t need a PhD to operate it—just a bit of zen while you wait for delivery.
