receipt of sale car qld Page 3

In Queensland, a receipt of sale for a car is your golden ticket proving you handed over the cash and the keys. It should include the seller's and buyer's full names and addresses, vehicle details like VIN, registration number, make, model, and year, plus the sale price and the date of sale. Both parties should sign it to avoid future 'he said, she said' drama. Remember, this receipt doesn’t transfer ownership—that’s a separate task with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. For peace of mind, use templates from Tradingpost or ServiceCentral to tick all legal boxes.
