red light camera points nsw Page 1802

In NSW, a red light camera offence carries 3 demerit points—no bonus prizes, just points you don’t want. The fine amount changes with indexation, so check the latest figure with Service NSW before you cry into your coffee. If you also blasted through while speeding, expect separate speeding penalties on top. Demerits hang around for three years from the offence date, which can make your licence look a bit peaky. Best cure is simple: stop on red, and save the heroics for the track.
