red p plate rules vic Page 10

Ah, the Red P plates in Victoria—because nothing says 'still mastering the art of driving' quite like a big red square slapped on your car. These plates are for probationary drivers in their first year after passing the test. The key rules include a maximum speed limit of 90 km/h, a zero blood alcohol limit, and the infamous no more than one passenger under 21 unless supervised clause between 11 pm and 5 am. You also can't use mobile phones at all, even hands-free, because apparently, your reflexes need all the help they can get. Fines and demerit points are harsher, so don’t think about pushing your luck. For the full legal spiel, check the VicRoads website or ServiceCentral for updates.
