red p plater rules qld Page 16

In Queensland, Red P plates mean you’re on a P1 licence for at least 12 months, and yes, the grown-ups are watching.

Zero BAC (not even a whiff), no mobile phone use at all while driving, and you must display red P plates front and rear.

If you’re under 25, you can carry no more than one passenger under 21 between 11pm and 5am—the car isn’t a party bus.

There’s no special P-plate speed cap in QLD; just obey the signed limits and try not to redecorate the kerb.

High-powered vehicle restrictions apply to P-platers (especially under 25), so that turbo monster can wait.

Rules change occasionally; check official guidance if anything here sounds like it was written on a napkin.
