repaint car cost Page 3

Looking to slap a fresh coat on your beloved rust bucket? Expect to fork out anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000 AUD depending on the quality and size of your car—basic resprays start cheap but look like a toddler’s art project, while a showroom-worthy job can bleed your wallet dry. Used cars with a dodgy paint job can be found on Tradingpost or CarShowroom, but a repaint might cost more than the car’s worth. Don’t forget to factor in prep work, rust treatment, and clear coats, which all add to the damage. If you want to save, DIY kits exist but beware: a paint gun and a lot of patience are mandatory. Always get a few quotes before committing, unless you fancy driving a kaleidoscope on wheels.
