repairable write-off qld new rules Page 2

So, Queensland has tightened the reins on repairable write-offs, because apparently, cars being thrown back together like a budget Frankenstein is a thing of the past. Under the new rules, vehicles classified as repairable write-offs must pass a stringent inspection before returning to the road, ensuring they're not just a danger disguised in shiny paint.

Key points: The vehicle must be inspected by an authorised examiner, repairs must meet safety standards, and a clear report must be lodged with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. This aims to prevent dodgy cars from slipping through and putting innocent Aussies at risk.

Prices for repairable write-offs can vary wildly, but beware—sometimes the fix-up costs dwarf the car's worth. For more detailed info, check official QLD government resources or browse listings on CarShowroom and Tradingpost to see what's actually out there.
