Most reverse cameras need three simple hookups: power from the reverse light circuit, a solid ground, and a video feed to the head unit. Use a multimeter to tap the positive wire that goes live only in reverse, add an inline fuse, and avoid Scotch-lock bodges like your dignity depends on it (it does). Run a shielded RCA video cable to the head unit and connect the purple/white “reverse trigger” wire so the screen flips on when you select R. On CAN-bus-heavy cars, consider an interface harness or camera adapter rather than butchering factory looms. Keep wiring away from airbags and moving parts, and seal any grommet you pass through so dust and water don’t RSVP. If picture is noisy, check grounds, try a ferrite choke, and verify the camera is NTSC/PAL to match the head unit.
