road signs vic Page 416

In Victoria, road signs follow national standards, so the rules are the same flavour across Australia even if the accent changes. Regulatory signs are black on white (with red rings for the “don’t even think about it” stuff), warning signs are yellow diamonds, and guide signs steer you with green, blue or brown.

Speed limits are absolute, school zones add time plates you must actually read, and variable limits win the argument because they glow. Roadworks wear orange—slow down, give space, and don’t argue with the traffic controller; they’re the boss of the bitumen. Swot up on shapes and colours and you’ll nail half your test; the rest is leaving a proper gap.
