Victoria punches well above its weight for road trip destinations, even if your esky’s ambition outweighs your itinerary. The Great Ocean Road serves drama on every corner, the Grampians add the rock-solid views, and Wilsons Prom dishes beaches so clean you’ll apologise for walking on them. Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula deliver wineries, hot springs, and the sort of lunch that makes maps redundant. If you fancy altitude, the High Country around Bright and Falls Creek rewards with twisty tarmac and alpine air that slaps laziness off your face. For wildlife and quiet, try the Otways and Gippsland—waterfalls one day, wombats plotting the next. Pack layers, a full tank, and an appetite; Victoria’s small, but it drives big.
