Ah, the good old "roadworthy" certificate in Victoria — the golden ticket to prove your car isn’t a death trap on wheels. Officially known as a Roadworthy Certificate (RWC), it’s mandatory when selling or transferring a vehicle. The inspection checks if your brakes, tyres, lights, steering, and other vital bits are up to scratch. Expect to pay around $100 to $200 AUD, depending on the tester.

Without it, your car is just a shiny paperweight for buyers and the government. If you’re hunting for a tester, places like ServiceCentral can help you find licensed inspectors. Remember, the RWC is pretty barebones—mechanical perfection isn’t required, just safety compliance. For the official nitty-gritty, consult VicRoads.
