rooftop tent on trailer Page 5

Mounting a rooftop tent on a trailer is the sort of adventurous overkill that says, "I camp like a king, but also like a rolling palace." It frees up your vehicle's roof space for other gear but adds weight and raises your trailer’s centre of gravity, so cornering might feel like piloting a ship in a storm. Key considerations include ensuring your trailer’s roof can support the tent’s weight (usually around 30-50 kg), proper waterproofing, and easy access—sturdy ladders are a must.

On the upside, you get a comfy, elevated sleeping spot and the freedom to unhitch and explore without breaking camp. Downside: setup can be fiddly, and finding aftermarket accessories compatible with trailer roofs is a niche hunt.
