selling a car in queensland Page 6

Selling a car in Queensland is about as thrilling as filling out paperwork, but hey, someone’s got to do it. First off, you’ll need a completed Notice of Disposal form to hand over to the Department of Transport and Main Roads. Make sure the car’s registration is current and the vehicle inspection report (if applicable) is up to date. Don’t forget to provide a receipt to the buyer that includes your details, the buyer’s details, and the sale price.

Prices for used cars vary wildly, so check out Tradingpost or CarShowroom to gauge the market. Remember, Queensland has specific rules about transferring registration within 14 days of sale. If you want to dodge future headaches, handle the transfer promptly. Selling a car might not be glamorous, but with the right paperwork, it’s at least painless.
