In Queensland, you need a current Safety Certificate before advertising a registered car, and its details must be shown in the listing and at inspections. When it sells, complete the transfer with the buyer online via TMR or on the paper form, record the odometer, VIN, and sale price, and keep a signed receipt. The buyer has 14 days to lodge the transfer and pay duty/fees; you should promptly report the sale details and remove your toll tag and insurance like a responsible adult. If it’s unregistered, remove the plates and return them to TMR; LPG‑equipped cars may need a current gas certificate, and clearing any finance (so a PPSR check shows “no encumbrance”) will save everyone a headache.
