selling a car unregistered qld Page 168

Selling a car unregistered in Queensland is like trying to sell a ticket to a movie that hasn’t been screened yet—possible, but with a few extra hoops to jump through. Legally, you can sell an unregistered vehicle; however, the buyer cannot drive it until it’s registered. The seller must provide a completed transfer form, and it's wise to inform the buyer about the registration status upfront to avoid any nasty surprises.

Expect to negotiate a lower price given the hassle the buyer faces to get the car roadworthy and registered. For all the official steps and forms, ServiceCentral is your mate. And if you’re hunting for a bargain or looking to offload quickly, Tradingpost and CarShowroom often list unregistered vehicles.
