selling a used car in qld Page 5

Selling a used car in Queensland involves more than just slapping a price tag on the windshield. First off, you'll need to ensure the vehicle has a current safety certificate (often called a roadworthy certificate) — this is mandatory for private sales. Next, the paperwork: complete a transfer of ownership form and lodge it with the Department of Transport and Main Roads within 14 days of the sale. Don't forget to provide a receipt to the buyer, detailing the sale price and vehicle details.

Prices for used cars in QLD vary wildly depending on make, model, and condition, but expect to check out listings on sites like Tradingpost and CarShowroom to get a good grip on the going rates. And remember, honesty is the best policy—disclose any known defects to avoid future headaches.
