selling a vehicle in qld Page 2

Selling a vehicle in Queensland is as straightforward as a Sunday drive—if you know the rules. First off, you'll need to complete the 'Notice of Disposal' form online or at a Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads service centre. This notifies the authorities that you've offloaded the motor, protecting you from any future parking tickets or worse.

You'll also want to provide the buyer with a completed 'Vehicle Registration Transfer Application' and ensure the vehicle has a current safety certificate—unless it's exempt. Prices for private sales vary widely depending on the vehicle's age and condition, but expect anywhere from a couple of hundred bucks for a banger to tens of thousands for a pristine ride.

For a hassle-free experience, check listings and market rates on Tradingpost or CarShowroom to gauge your asking price.
