In Queensland, the “form” you’re chasing depends on the car’s status, but start with a current Queensland Safety Certificate (roadworthy) if the vehicle is registered and you plan to advertise it.
When it sells, complete the Vehicle Registration Transfer with Transport and Main Roads—either online (both buyer and seller confirm) or via the paper transfer application; do it within 14 days to dodge late fees.
Hand the buyer the safety certificate, a signed receipt with VIN, rego, date, price and odometer, and keep copies like a paranoid librarian.
Selling to a dealer? They usually handle the paperwork. Selling an unregistered car? No safety certificate required, but it can’t be driven on the road except for inspection or transport with a permit.
