Selling your car in Queensland involves a few key steps to avoid any legal hiccups and ensure you don’t get stung post-sale. First, you’ll need to complete a Transfer of Registration form and submit it to the Department of Transport and Main Roads within 14 days of the sale. Don’t forget to provide a safety certificate if your car is over five years old; this proves it’s roadworthy.

Prices for used cars in QLD vary widely, but check platforms like Tradingpost and CarShowroom to gauge your vehicle’s market value. Remember to be honest about your car’s condition to avoid disputes. And for heaven’s sake, keep a copy of the signed receipt and transfer documents—otherwise, you might still be liable for speeding tickets for a car you sold last month!
