shared zone rules qld Page 477

In a Queensland shared zone, you creep along at 10 km/h—yes, that’s basically jogging pace for enthusiastic labradors.

Pedestrians rule the roost: you must give way to them at all times, and be ready to stop—no heroic overtakes of prams, thanks.

Only park or stop in signed bays; otherwise keep rolling and pretend you’re smooth as butter.

Cyclists and scooters are part of the mix, so treat the whole area like a busy footpath with cars allowed by invitation only.

The zone starts and ends where the “Shared Zone” and “End Shared Zone” signs say so; outside that, normal road rules resume.
