The SolarEdge bidirectional EV charger is a clever bit of kit that not only charges your electric vehicle but can also send power back to your home or the grid. This means you can use your EV's battery as a giant energy reservoir, potentially saving money during peak times or blackouts. Key specs include power output up to 7.6 kW, compatibility with various EV models, and seamless integration with SolarEdge solar inverters for maximum efficiency. Pricing for such smart chargers generally starts around AUD 2,000 new, with used units somewhat cheaper but less common. Keep in mind, installation costs can add a significant chunk to the bill, especially if your home's electrical system needs upgrading.
