sorento hev vs phev Page 3

Kia Sorento Hybrid (HEV) vs Plug‑in Hybrid (PHEV): same comfy seven-seat SUV, two very different ways to appease your conscience.

HEV pros: no charging faff, lower price, better boot flexibility; cons: no EV‑only commute and fuel savings hinge on gentle driving.

PHEV pros: around 50 km of EV‑only range for school runs, punchier combined output, and whisper‑quiet around town; cons: higher price, needs regular charging, and slightly less underfloor storage.

Both run a 1.6‑litre turbo‑petrol with a six‑speed auto, and real‑world economy depends on you more than the brochure.

If you can plug in nightly, the PHEV can make servo visits feel like a quaint hobby; if not, the HEV is the simpler, saner path.
