The Sphynx cat is that famously hairless feline that looks like it’s perpetually ready for a sci-fi convention. Known for its wrinkled skin and large ears, this breed is medium-sized and surprisingly affectionate, often described as a dog in a cat’s body. They require regular bathing since their skin produces oils without fur to absorb it, and they prefer warmer climates or cozy sweaters in Aussie winters. Expect to pay between $1,500 and $3,000 AUD for a kitten, with used or older cats available for less on PuppyList or Tradingpost. They’re a charming choice if you don’t mind extra grooming and a cat that looks like it’s just escaped an alien autopsy.
