springbrook park australia Page 3

Springbrook National Park in Queensland’s Gold Coast hinterland is a lush slice of World Heritage rainforest with cliffs, lookouts and waterfalls that actually deliver. Highlights include Purling Brook Falls, the Natural Bridge glow-worm cave after dark, and the aptly named Best of All Lookout. Expect cool, misty weather even in summer, and roads that are twisty enough to make a hatchback feel heroic. Wear sturdy shoes, pack a rain jacket, and give creeks a miss after heavy rain. Entry is free; camping needs a booking and fees. Drive sensibly—wildlife and fog appear with zero respect for your itinerary.
