subaru impreza 2023 review Page 2

The 2023 Subaru Impreza is the trusty workhorse of the compact car segment, offering all-wheel drive as standard, which is about as exciting as a root canal but undeniably practical for Aussie roads. Under the bonnet, it sports a 2.0-litre flat-four engine delivering around 114 kW, paired to a CVT that’s more about efficiency than thrills. Inside, the cabin is spacious enough to avoid claustrophobia, with decent infotainment, but don’t expect luxury—this is Subaru’s sensible side on display.

Prices start at roughly $25,000 AUD new, with used models varying widely depending on condition and mileage; check Tradingpost or CarShowroom for current deals. Common grumbles include CVT noise and a somewhat bland driving experience. In summary, it’s a reliable, practical hatch or sedan but hardly a heartbreaker.
