subaru outback 2023 hybrid Page 5

Short answer: there wasn’t a hybrid Subaru Outback sold in Australia in 2023. The local range was the 2.5-litre petrol with AWD and the later 2.4 turbo XT—both CVT, both roomy, neither sipping electrons. Expect real-world fuel use around the high-7s for the 2.5 and closer to the 9s for the turbo if you’re feeling enthusiastic. If you want a hybrid Subaru, you’re looking at the Forester Hybrid or the Crosstrek Hybrid, not the Outback.

Fancy a thrifty AWD wagon vibe anyway? Keep an eye on Tradingpost for deals, or consider rival hybrid options if you can live without the Outback’s bush-ready stance.
