sugar glider

Ah, the sugar glider—a marsupial that looks like a tiny, fluffy jetpack! Native to Australia, these nocturnal creatures are about 16-21 cm long (including their bushy tail) and weigh around 100-160 grams. They can glide up to 50 metres between trees thanks to their impressive membrane called the patagium. In Australia, owning one requires a permit, and prices for a pet sugar glider range from $300 to $700 AUD for a baby, while used or older ones might be found on PuppyList or Tradingpost for less. They’re social animals, so never get just one unless you want a very lonely little glider on your hands. Remember, they need a specialised diet and care, so check the official guidelines thoroughly before committing to a fluffy flying buddy.
