In the Supercars Championship, “parity” is the dark art of making different makes race like clones without actually admitting they’re clones.

Officials juggle aero balance, engine output targets, minimum weight/ballast and centre‑of‑gravity to keep lap times within a whisker, guided by straight-line tests, CFD/wind‑tunnel data and race telemetry.

It keeps the racing tight, but whenever one brand streaks ahead, the rulebook gets the spanners out and the paddock erupts like a kettle left on high.

Think of it as category-specific balance-of-performance: same aim, different recipe, all in service of letting drivers and teams, not badges, decide the glory.
