Holden was a cornerstone of the Supercars story, with Commodores trading paint for decades and a trophy cabinet big enough to need planning permission. The road-car brand bowed out in 2020, but the ZB Commodore raced on until the end of 2022—signing off with a Bathurst 1000 win for Shane van Gisbergen and Garth Tander. From 2023’s Gen3 era, Holden’s role effectively passed to Chevrolet Camaro, while Ford carried on with the Mustang, leaving the lion badge to history and merch stands. The legacy remains: think Brock, Skaife, Lowndes, Whincup, and more red jackets than a marching band. You can still find Holden gear and memorabilia floating around places like Tradingpost if the nostalgia bites.
