sydney to canberra stops Page 193

Heading from Sydney to Canberra? Break it up with easy wins along the Hume and Federal.

Start with Berrima or Bowral for coffee and a stroll; Mittagong if you just want fuel and a sausage roll. Marulan services are a clean pit stop, and Goulburn’s Big Merino is mandatory for the cheesy photo and a decent café bite. Back on the Federal, pull over at the Lake George lookout for a quick leg-stretch and wind-in-your-hair moment. Collector and Bungendore offer cracking pubs and bakeries if your co‑pilot bribes you with donuts. Keep it simple: plan two short stops, swap drivers if you can, and enjoy the run instead of treating it like a time trial.
