t roc review australia 2023 Page 3

The 2023 VW T‑Roc finally feels like the Golf on stilts it was always meant to be — taut, tidy, and just cheeky enough to make the school run interesting.

The cabin gets nicer materials and a proper digital dash, with driver assists that stop short of nagging like a back-seat driving labrador. The base turbo‑petrol is smooth and frugal, the AWD variant adds real shove, and the R will turn a supermarket carpark into a hillclimb if you’re not careful. Ride quality is firm‑but‑fair on Aussie roads, and space is family‑friendly without pretending to be a removalist’s van. Running costs are sensible and the 5‑year warranty helps. Expect pricing from the mid‑$30Ks to around $60K depending on spec — and yes, you’ll find plenty on Tradingpost if you fancy a bargain.
