The Tesla Model 3's cruise control is Traffic-Aware Cruise Control: it keeps a set speed and adjusts to the car ahead, right down to stop-and-go.

Basic Autopilot (standard in AU) includes TACC and Autosteer; the fancier lane changes and Navigate on Autopilot need the optional packs.

Recent cars rely on cameras (Tesla Vision), so it will be confident on clear lane markings but struggle with poor visibility or erratic cut-ins.

Engagement and controls vary by year, but speed and following distance are adjusted via the steering-wheel scrolls, and you must keep hands on and eyes up.

Think of it as a very diligent apprentice: brilliant at the boring bits, not a chauffeur, so you are still responsible.
