Short answer: there isn’t a Tesla Gigafactory in Australia yet.

Tesla builds cars and batteries in the US, China, and Germany, while happily buying plenty of Aussie lithium without the faff of building here.

There’s been periodic chatter about local manufacturing or battery facilities, but nothing concrete—no site, no approvals, no timeline.

If a deal ever lands, expect governments to trumpet it like the second coming of the ute; until then, it’s all kangaroos and rumours.

So for now, your Made-in-Australia Tesla dreams remain exactly that—dreams.
