tesla model y home charger Page 5

Your Tesla Model Y will be happiest sipping electrons at home via a Wall Connector or quality third‑party EVSE—no more public‑charger roulette.

AC limit: up to 11 kW (three‑phase), ~7.4 kW (single‑phase 32 A), Type 2 plug, and a dedicated 32 A circuit from a licensed sparky are the go. That translates to roughly 50–75 km of range per hour, which is plenty unless you moonlight as a taxi for wombats.

Hardware is about AUD $750–$900 for the charger, plus roughly AUD $800–$2,000 for installation depending on switchboard, cable runs, and whether you’ve put the garage on the wrong side of the house. Smart features like load balancing, scheduling, and solar‑aware charging play nicely with the Tesla app.

Prefer a portable option? A 10–15 A EVSE will work, but it’s slow enough to make a kettle look sprightly.
