tesla navigation vs google maps Page 63

Tesla’s built-in navigation versus Google Maps is a fight between charge-savvy brains and search-savvy brawn.

• Pros: native to the car, plans routes via Superchargers with battery preconditioning, shows live traffic, and keeps working when your phone reception goes bush.
• Cons: slimmer POI/search and fewer fancy map tricks, no CarPlay/Android Auto, and the browser can’t pass routes to the driver display.

• Pros: superb POI search, multi-stop planning, offline maps and Street View, live traffic, and easy route sharing.
• Cons: in a Tesla it lives on your phone (or browser), so no native cluster directions and no battery-aware charge stops baked in.
