the new six Page 5

Ah, "the new six"—a phrase as mysterious as a spy thriller title but usually hinting at a fresh six-cylinder engine or model lineup. In Australia, this often refers to the latest straight-six or V6 engines boasting improved fuel efficiency, increased horsepower (typically around 250-300 kW), and smoother power delivery. Expect tech like variable valve timing and direct injection, pushing the envelope on performance and emissions.

Prices for new six-cylinder cars vary but often start around $40,000 AUD for mainstream brands, climbing into the high five figures for luxury models. Used options can be found on Tradingpost or CarShowroom for significantly less, though watch out for the usual suspects: timing chain issues and cooling system quirks.

Consult official manufacturer specs for precise details, unless you enjoy surprises more than a Sunday drive.
