Turns out the Tokyo Motor Show 2023 wasn’t called that — it relaunched as the Japan Mobility Show 2023, staged at Tokyo Big Sight in late October and early November.
The theme was EVs, autonomy and “what if we made a lounge room on wheels,” with concepts outnumbering cars you can actually buy by a country mile.
Debuts included the Toyota FT-Se and FT-3e, Honda Prelude Concept, Mazda Iconic SP, Nissan Hyper Force, and Lexus’s sleek LF‑ZC/LF‑ZL.
Even the bike crowd showed up, with hydrogen and hybrid experiments from the usual Japanese suspects.
If you’re hunting production reality, it was more crystal ball than dealer lot — but as a peek at where the industry’s heading, it was a full technicolour preview.
