In Australia, the Volkswagen Touareg R eHybrid is the plug‑in Touareg that does school runs like a saint and overtakes like a rugby forward on espresso.

Key specs are roughly 340 kW and 700 Nm from a V6 petrol plus electric motor, ~50 km electric‑only range (WLTP‑style), an 8‑speed auto with AWD, and a braked towing limit around 3,500 kg. It charges on AC at home, slips about in EV mode for short trips, and then hauls when the petrol wakes up. Availability is limited compared with the diesel Touareg variants, and pricing sits a fair whack above them, as you’d expect for the spicy one with electrons. Consult official documentation for exact figures.
