toyota camry timing belt replacement schedule Page 5

First check whether your Toyota Camry has a timing belt or a chain—most Australian Camrys from the early 2000s 4‑cylinders and all late‑2000s V6s use timing chains that are generally maintenance-free.

If you’ve got an older belt-driven engine (notably some pre‑2006 V6 and pre‑2002 4‑cyl models), the usual replacement window is about 90,000–150,000 km or 6–9 years, whichever comes first.

When doing the belt, it’s smart to replace the tensioner, idlers, and water pump in the same visit to avoid paying labour twice.

Because Camry engines and intervals vary by year and market, confirm by VIN and service book before booking it in. Consult official documentation for exact figures.
