toyota corolla engine replacement cost Page 11

Swapping a Toyota Corolla engine isn’t pocket change, but it beats pushing. A used/wrecker engine fitted will usually land around $3,000–$6,500 all-in, depending on labour (think 10–20 hours) and the condition of the lump. A reconditioned unit tends to sit near $4,500–$8,000, while a brand-new/long-block crate can climb to roughly $8,000–$12,000+ installed. Add a few hundred for fluids, mounts, belts, and “since we’re in there” surprises, and hybrids can push higher thanks to extra complexity. Shop quotes from reputable mechanics, check warranty terms on the engine, and make sure the ECU and immobiliser play nicely. It’s not glamorous, but it’ll get your Corolla back to doing what it does best: starting every time and refusing to die.
